Just a quick update. Im still out in LA and having a great time. I love the weather and I have been meeting a lot of new and really cool people. I'm currently working on a secret project for myself and when I finish, I'll be spamming you with notifications of updates with an art puke of the work. I am going to try doing at least one painting every couple of days and post it up during this break from school to keep me going. On another note, for the coming semester, I plan to design characters for a "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table" done Dynasty Warriors style or at least for its engine for Senior Studio. So the paintings that I will be doing will revolve around medieval armors, weapons and themes with design twist to the traditional armors scene. Here is the first one which is a portrait of a helmet based on Danish Viking helmets with a bit of an "elf" design twist. I guess you could even call it a bit celt inspired.

Noel Night, good friends and Greetings from Detroit

This past Saturday was Noel Night at CCS. Noel Night is like an artist alley/artist market that happens once a year around christmas. It consist of artist that are either Alumni or current students of the school. I am proud to say that I took part of Noel Night this year and I had a blast. There were so many great artist out there Saturday night selling there stuff like it was the stock exchange. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! At the end of the night, me and many of my friends had a fun time celebrating the end of Noel night at and amazing bar called the Park Bar which is right next to an equally amazing little grill restaurant calls Buckarest.

Meet Gepetto and Pinocchio. They're traveling companions that you meet along the way in the game that I'm doing IP development for in my senior studio course. These are just sketches to show what I've got cooking for the two characters at the moment and like with the other two post, I'll post up the final designs when they are completely finished.

Main character design process

This is the process that I used to achieve the main character's look of the game that I am doing IP development for in my senior studio class. This would be the first outfit he wears within the game and as you advance through the game and gain more experience, you will have the opportunities to achieve outfits that are more bad ass looking. The final design is still going through tweaks so when it's finished, I'll post him up.

Just got back from Icon 6 this past week and all I have to say is that it was GLORIOUS!! Met a lot of really awesome and talented artist. I will be sure to post up more info on my experience at Icon 6 but I'm limited on battery power right now and can only manage a quick update. So here is a quick character sketch I did a couple of nights ago. I just couldn't get to a scanner or else this sketch would have been up sooner. I started off just letting my mind and hand do what ever they wanted and then once the basic "invisible lines" started taking shape, I decided to take more control over what this sketch would turn out as. When I decided to take more control, I felt like I haven't done enough post-apocalyptic type characters and drawings and figured I should give it a go. So here is my take on a post-apocalyptic "ninja," in a sense. Hope you guys enjoy. Oh, I'm also working on a little matte painting that should be finish either tomorrow or the day after. Will post that one up as well when its finished.

Here is a quick little environment I did for fun on Saturday night after working on homework all day Saturday. The first one is the actual on I did, the second one was just the original one turned grayscale to see if i got the values (I got close but no cigar) and the third one is just me messing with the speed paint in photoshop using the curves adjustment options.(i love curves) Also a little update on me, nothing new to really report on me...lol... just keeping busy with school and trying to develop my personal story that I should be able to start doing the visual development during the summer... hopefully.. anyways.. have a good day people and stay happy... and dont over think things, life is to short to stress yourself out with over thinking.

Chinese Zodiac assignment

These were done for my Environments and characters class. The assignment was to design 2 characters based on an assigned animal from the chinese zodiac. I was assigned to the snake which is said to be elegant, cold, a loner, prideful, wise, deep thinker and at times a little hot headed. So i figured, what fits that description better than someone of royal lineage. No one really knows how their life is and I imagine that they cant really trust anyone in their lives. Especially since its so political. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy these. The last one is still a WIP and I mean a WIP.

SURPRISE!!!!! A SECOND UPDATE IN LESS THAN A WEEK!!!! this is a matte painting i did for my matte painting class. Im happy with how it came out considering this was my second actual attempt at matte painting. anyways, just thought I would show you guys that I actually have finished work. So there are only 2 more weeks till the end of the semester. Its been a great and busy semester and i feel like i have learned a tremendous amount this year. So the semester is coming to a close and I decided to take some time out of my schedule and sketch for fun. Lately i've been having a hard time figuring which way is the most comfortable and natural way for me to render. So recently i decided to try out this method i see a lot where you do a line drawing and then you paint under the lines and a little bit over the line work where ever you want to draw the focus of your viewer. So here is a little something something i did after i finished retouching some photos for a job. hope you enjoy and i hope that this leads me somewhere i'll feel comfortable and natural doing. (and the drawing is BLAH...also it is just another one of those drawings that i just allowed my hand to do without thinking)

I know i said i was gonna post some stuff that i was suppose to do over the summer but a lot of un expected things happened that prevented me from doing anything i had originally planned. And before i knew it, school had started. So its official, CCS is now back in session and i am only taking 15 credits this semester unlike the 18 i took last semester. Ive already finished the first week of classes and ive gotta say, im excited about this semester. It seems like its going to be a great fall semester for me this year. Cant wait to get some projects and drawings done, that way i can finally start posting some work for you guys to see. And to my friends that stop by every now and then on here, (choose what ever fits your situation)

CCS is over with and summer has begun... not really because im taking two summer classes this year over at OCC and it was suppose to be three classes but like always, one got cancelled. im currently working on a big personal project and im also developing 3 stories at the moment to turn into comics of sorts but im gathering all of my data and reference first. I hope everyone has a good summer and ill try to post something soon... maybe even some of my chicken scratch sketches

well..... here is another update.... the semester is reaching its end and boy am i happy... that means i can rest for two days then i start back up the following monday for my spring semester thats not as rigorous as this semester was.... but anyways... this is a 2 day study from life.... but all in all... the painting is probably took about 3-4 hours... cause im not in the class for the full three hours... i usually get distracted or just wonder off from time to time... but eh... i like it... have a good one

I can't believe this but I'm actually updating. Well anyways, I'm gonna cut this short. For those of you who didn't know(which is most if not everyone), I am part of a group of Detroit based artist that sketch every Thursday night (http://www.drawsucka.com ), and we are currently doing something called food fight. Which is a competition where each artist creates a fighter based around a certain food theme such as this year's theme, Italian, and for my fighter i decided to use an Italian seafood soup Trieste style as my inspiration for the food fighter. So i present you with the Seafood Trieste Gang.
